London, United Kingdom, 2026 — Senior leaders from across the UK nursery and wraparound care sector gathered in London for the exclusive launch of Resonate CX’s Nurseries Customer Experience Opportunities 2026 report, the platform’s latest annual study into what families want from early education and how provider expectations are shifting.
The invite-only executive event brought together nursery operators, early education group leaders, and wraparound care providers for a presentation of findings drawn from a statistically significant study of UK families, conducted with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of ±5%. The research data was just two weeks old at the time of the event, making it among the most current and commercially relevant insight available to the sector.
A Sector Under Pressure — and the Data to Navigate It
Addressing attendees, Resonate CX CEO Mita Bedi opened by reflecting on the scale of change the sector is navigating: funding shifts, regulatory developments, staffing challenges, and broader economic uncertainty have made the operating environment more complex than at any point in recent years.
The report was designed to cut through that complexity with hard evidence. Covering the UK nursery and wraparound care market, the research examines usage patterns, family decision-making, the impact of government subsidy changes, provider switching behaviour, and what families consider the ideal nursery experience.
Among the findings presented: the majority of UK families using nursery care sit in the 35–50 age bracket, with 87% of survey respondents partnered and 62% having both parents working full-time. While the core market skews toward middle and higher income groups, the expansion of government funding is broadening participation across income segments — creating both opportunity and new competitive pressure for providers.

Understanding the Family Segments
A central theme of the 2026 report is the diversity of family motivations for using nursery care. The data challenges any assumption that childcare demand is purely driven by working parents needing supervision. A significant proportion of families use nursery and wraparound provision for developmental, educational, and social reasons — a finding with meaningful implications for how providers communicate value and differentiate their offering.
The session explored how different family segments behave at the point of provider selection, what triggers switching, and what experience investments are most likely to drive long-term enrolment retention across both nursery and wraparound audiences.
What Providers Can Do With These Insights
For nursery groups and wraparound care operators, the commercial value of the research lies in its specificity. Knowing which family segments are most at risk of switching, which experience factors most strongly influence the decision to add an extra day, and where the gap between the current and ideal nursery experience is largest gives providers a clear starting point for CX investment decisions.
The event also gave attendees the opportunity to discuss findings in a peer-to-peer format, connecting the research to the real operational challenges leaders are managing across their portfolios.
